“SING WITH CHOICES RATHER THAN LIMITATIONS”

“Paul’s combination of his understanding and ability to assess where you are at any given moment within your development means that his instruction is entirely personalised to you and the singer you want to be, over and above what anyone else has decreed as ‘the way to be’. I’ve worked with Paul to improve what I already had, hone what I currently do and introduce what may yet add to my skills-base. I have gone from strength to strength, hitting notes comfortably that I never thought possible. Paul not only enabled me to make choices with my voice that I could never make before, but he also gave me huge confidence with his encouraging and reassuring teaching manner. I would recommend Paul to any vocalist who wants to sing with choices rather than limitations.”JOHN – SENIOR LECTURER AT A UNIVERSITY

“PAUL HAS HEALED MY VOCAL INJURY”

“After developing a vocal injury and having to stop singing completely, many people recommended Paul in order to aid my recovery. The lessons have opened my eyes to the essential technique behind singing and Paul corrected faults and bad habits which enabled a fast and successful recovery. I cannot thank Paul enough.”ZOE - PERFORMER

“I’VE LEARNT THINGS IN ONE LESSON WHICH BEAT ALL THREE YEARS OF VOICE CLASSES AT DRAMA SCHOOL PUT TOGETHER”

“I couldn’t recommend Paul highly enough. He came to me through a friend and the five hour round trip is absolutely worth the effort every time. I’ve been a professional actor for fifteen years. Ive had all the training and voice classes shoved down my throat so to speak, and have sang in bands for years. I also spent two years in the west end singing nightly in The Sound of Music and Les Miserables. I thought I knew some stuff. I thought I was a fairly competent singer. I must have been skilled in some manner to get in those shows. But there’s a big difference between being able to sing and being an actual singer. And that difference for me is Paul McFadden.

His knowledge of the voice and all its many mechanics is outstanding. I’ve learnt things in one lesson which beat all three years of voice classes at drama school put together. His teaching style is relaxed and friendly. No question is dismissed or glanced over and I ask a LOT of questions. Even the ones I think are dumb turn out to have something worth learning from. My only regret is that I hadn’t found him fifteen years ago. I’d have been playing the lead in those shows instead of an understudy or chorus. No question. After only 7 or 8 lessons I’ve had a complete overhaul. What I thought I knew about the voice was generally misinformed and the stuff I’m replacing it with is fascinating. I’m not going to pretend it’s an easy ride and that you’ll come away from the first lesson suddenly singing like Pavarotti. You won’t. As much as Paul can teach you, he can’t do the work for you. Most of my discoveries have been in the privacy of my own home whilst going through the previous lesson in my head. Putting into practice the skills and information Paul has given me. It can be frustrating. In one lesson I just wasn’t getting it. Wasn’t able to do what Paul was asking. It was only later on the light switch went on. Then things start fitting into place. It’s like a eureka moment, and I’ve had many. I imagine there’ll be plenty more. That’s the thing with the voice – there’s a lot to learn.

If you’re reading this and thinking whether Paul is right for you. Stop. Pick up the phone and call him. He’s a lovely bloke. Luckily, I’d now consider him a friend. All be it a friend that takes money off me, but he makes me sound better so I’ll forgive him that!!!!”

“A COMFORTABLE AND YET PROFESSIONAL ENVIRONMENT”

“Paul provides a comfortable and yet professional environment to work in. He has given me a deep understanding of technique and how my voice works; this has made me much more versatile. Every minute of every lesson with Paul is beneficial and I always look forward to the next one. Without Paul’s guidance I wouldn’t have the understanding I have and I feel that his approach will prepare me for the professional world of Performing Arts.”HANNAH - UNIVERSITY STUDENT

“THE WHOLE CONFUSION OF SINGING EXPLAINED”

“Top marks in every way! As a guitarist i often became frustrated by singing. I couldn’t get my voice to a level that I expected as a musician and really didn’t know why. As a result of this I avoided singing and had no confidence in my own voice. After contacting Paul for vocal tuition he started to unravel the mystery that was singing. Through his guidance I am gaining confidence daily and the whole confusion that was singing badly is quickly disappearing. Amazing lessons from a superb and experienced coach.”MICHAEL - MUSICIAN

“SUCCESS AT DRAMA SCHOOL AUDITIONS”

“I started training with Paul in the September of 2015 after a year of auditioning for musical theatre courses at drama schools with no positive outcomes. The vast improvement in my voice in such a short period of time has been spectacular; this is down to the exercises, techniques and knowledge Paul has provided me with. My range has expanded greatly and Paul has taught me the ability to control my voice through his detailed explanations, examples and exercises expressing the importance and use of breath, relaxation and posture in song. Prior to my lessons with Paul I struggled with my stamina and flow whilst singing for long periods of time, therefore we tackled this in the first few lessons by the techniques above which immediately eliminated these problems; from there we continued to better my voice as it grew. I have definitely noticed the improvement in my voice along with my family and friends, which confirms my belief in Paul’s skilful training.

Not only has my voice improved, but my understanding of essential skills has also, which is due to Paul’s outstanding knowledge of techniques which amazes me even now, he makes sure if something isn’t working for me he will make something else suit my needs. He has worked as a theoretical teacher as well as a practical one helping me understand how my own voice works and what it can be capable of.
Paul has a friendly and relaxed but firm approach to teaching which reflects his personality and makes it very easy to get along with him and work together. I felt very welcome when I started lessons with Paul as the environment we work in is homely and I feel very comfortable practising and performing with him.
I knew Paul’s teaching had greatly impacted me as after only 3 months with him I managed to secure a place studying Musical Theatre at London College of Music with an unconditional offer. All in all, Paul is a lovely funny guy, not to mention a fantastic teacher and friend.”

“I’VE NOW GOT THE CONFIDENCE TO SING WITH BANDS”

“I’d only been singing for a few months when I contacted Paul after having a bad experience with another tutor. I really enjoyed singing, so despite the bad experience, I thought I’d give it one more try. I explained exactly what had happened to Paul, and he said, “Let’s start replacing that bad experience with some good experiences”, and that is exactly what we have done. My singing lesson is the highlight of my week – a friendly, relaxed atmosphere plus plenty laughter – and in the last year or so I’ve gone from not really thinking I can sing at all to singing songs that I would never have dreamed I could sing. I’ve now got the confidence to sing with bands and am just about – with Paul’s guidance – to audition for Musicals. Paul knows exactly how to get the best out of your voice with the minimum of effort, and his teaching experience really shows. Please give him a try, I’m sure that you’ll never look back, and he makes a decent brew too!”MEL - STUDENT

“A GREAT SETUP AND MODERN FACILITIES”

“I Started out as a very inexperienced singer lacking confidence in my vocal ability. Paul immediately sensed my strengths and weaknesses in a very short space of time and provided excellent feedback. Ever enthusiastic and professional in the face of impossibleness (my vocals!). He has even inspired me to do the unimaginable and perform live. Also a great setup and modern facilities. He caters for all tastes and styles. If you’re a budding singer or songwriter do yourself a favour and get down there. You’ll be very glad you did.”RYAN - SINGER/SONGWRITER

“VOICE REHABILITATION”

Paul, is a very talented man and you can see he really enjoys his work and that shows in every lesson.”HOLLY - PERFORMER
